OVERVIEW:
– when you run the MSI it will copy 19 EXE’s and one DAT file to C:\Programs Files\.
– it will also copy 19 shorcuts for the EXE files to the windows start menu folder.
– i created this MSI by using a program called ThinApp, formerly known as Thinstall.
– the last version i created was 600MB…this version is so much larger because it
also includes the proofing tools pack that enables another 50 languages.
– although the MSI only extracts files and doesn’t actually install anything, a MSI
still acts like an installer and because of this, you will not be able to run it ony
any computers that are locked down.fortunately, after you have run it on your own
computer, you can just copy the folder that was extracted to "C:\Program Files\" and
and throw that on any flash drive to use on any protected computers.
– there are some computers out there that are so locked down that unless you rename
the file to something the computer already allows, even portable programs won’t work.
if you do find yourself in this situation, all you need to do is rename the files to
iexplorer.exe, because almost every public computer allows that one to run.

HOWEVER:
– DON’T ever rename the file "_Microsoft Office 2003 MultiLang – do not rename.dat."
– this DAT is what contains all of the programs – the other files are just shorcuts.
– if the DAT file is renamed, none of the programs will work until its changed back.
– since the rest of the filenames are just shorcuts, you can edit them all you want.

THE TEMP FOLDER AKA THE SANDBOX:
– DON’T delete the contents of the directory "temp folder(sandbox) – do not delete."
– this folder will be generated as soon as you have run one of the office programs.
– this folder retains any changes made to the portable program’s config / settings.
– if you accidentally delete this folder, it’s okay because it will be regenerated.
– if the program ever stops working, then go and delete the folder or its contents.
– since deleting the folder or its contents will revert the program to its original
settings, if it is important to you to never have to reconfigure settings, make sure
to export your config with the "Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard."
